Reeve (Abbeystead Reeve) has been with me for the winter while her owner recovered from a major operation. Originally just with me to pick up, I did some work with her, and it looked to me like she could trial, so I asked her owner Lynne if she'd like me to give it a go. The long and the short of it is that we put in for 8 or 9 late end of season Novice stakes, and got runs in three. These were over the space of four days, so it was all a bit intensive, but I'm thrilled to say that she was awarded 2nd at the third trial with the Leicestershire Gundog Society. I feel this is particularly special as she's a 5 1/2 year old dog, who's never trialled before, and all her training with me was "on the job" - no training days whatsoever.
